Biography
Susan Biggins Owens focuses her practice on defending employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters. She draws on more than a decade of experience representing clients in New York and Vermont to deliver valuable insights and procedural knowledge of workers’ compensation and personal injury matters. She handles trials, hearings, and proceedings at the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board across New York state.
Susan’s in-depth knowledge of New York Workers’ Compensation Law and years of litigation experience allow her to provide clients with proactive strategies to defend against workers compensation claims and limit exposure in already established claims.
Susan’s experience includes the deposition of expert and lay witnesses, arbitration, and mediation, and drafting notices of claim and discovery demands. She is also highly skilled at researching and writing appeals, rebuttals, and memoranda citing Workers’ Compensation Law and related case law, statutes, and regulations.
Susan is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Vermont Bar Association.
