Ms. Davis focuses her practice on workers’ compensation matters. She has significant experience representing clients facing these issues in a range of industries including retail operations, large manufacturing and staffing agencies. She also has extensive experience working closely with smaller business owners who face different kinds of challenges when defending against a workers’ compensation claim.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Davis worked with Gallagher Bassett Services, one of the leading third-party administrators, starting her career there as a Claims Manager overseeing a unit of eight lost time adjusters. In this position, she handled large complex accounts for UPS, Starbucks, and Sysco Foods. Ms. Davis gained a unique perspective of workers’ compensation claims – that of the adjuster who worked with and on behalf of employers, investigating claims from their inceptions, learning exposure analysis and basic medical management – all of which strengthened her ability to provide a more comprehensive legal opinion in her current position as defense counsel. With this understanding, Ms. Davis is able to better communicate with adjusters and employers, anticipating their questions and needs which all contribute to the exceptional legal advice and analysis she provides her clients.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Davis clerked for Alfonso Frioni, Jr., Chairman and Commissioner and Robert A. Krebs, Commissioner, of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board. It was here that she gained experience in workers’ compensation law from the appellate perspective, reviewing entire cases and parties’ briefs that gave her a global understanding of each party’s role in a case.
In addition to private practice as an attorney, Ms. Davis spent more than 10 years teaching as an adjunct professor for Central Penn College. In this role, she taught and mentored young paralegals and law-school bound students. Teaching others-whether as a professor, mentor, attorney and providing advice and assistance remains one of her great passions.
