Biography
Debra Doby, a partner at Vaughan Baio & Partners, concentrates her practice on New York and Longshore Harborworker’s worker’s compensation, with a subspecialty in construction and safety matters. Named a “Rising Star” in New York Metro Super Lawyers in 2016-2020, Debra has written and presented on subjects including cannabis, opioids, over-prescription of medications and safety. She frequently writes and presents on these subjects for industry publications and conferences.
Debra has extensive experience representing clients before state and federal administrative law proceedings and in appellate courts, deposing medical professionals and other experts, and advising on all aspects of administrative law.
Drawing on both her undergraduate degree in chemistry as well as her insights into workers’ compensation issues and trends in pain medication prescription practices nationally, Debra created our Medication/MSA Reduction Program (MRP) — a comprehensive program designed to help claims professionals reduce claimants’ use of prescription medications and excessive treatment. The program also helps identify and mitigate claims that have the potential to spiral out of control in terms of cost and exposure.
